Les mutilations génitales féminines : leur abandon une utopie ?
C’est à cette question qu’Holger Postulart va tenter d’apporter des éléments de réponse. Son organisation, basée à Genève, dont les campagnes de sensibilisation font appel à la culture, la musique et les arts, travaille sur des projets éducatifs innovants intéressant l’UNESCO et des universités françaises, suisses et africaines.
L’OMS estime que 140 millions de femmes et de filles dans le monde vivent avec les conséquences traumatisantes des mutilations génitales féminines. En Afrique, 3 millions de fillettes seront mutilées chaque année pour des raisons non médicales. Face à ce problème, devenu mondial avec les migrations internationales, il n’est plus possible de fermer les yeux car ces fillettes ne sont plus uniquement africaines.
